As a copywriter, I create texts for websites, social media, brochures, campaigns and newsletters together with my colleague Iris. I also have an advisory role in the field of strategy, online marketing and of course content. I have had a very nice six months and I will tell you why.

Happiness at work

Job satisfaction is of paramount importance at Vrolijk Online. What does job satisfaction mean? The ingredients for a feeling of happiness in the workplace are satisfaction, connection, positivity and results. Happiness at work makes you healthier, more successful, more productive, more innovative, more creative and more positive. So not unimportant! Moreover, I don't just work to earn money, but above all I want to contribute, develop myself and have a good time.

Vrolijk Online regularly organizes interactive sessions. This examines where improvements can be made in the field of job satisfaction. With questions such as "Do you feel free to give your opinion?", "Do you think your efforts are appreciated?" or “Are there enough laughs?” insight has been gained into the job satisfaction of all employees.

Flexibility and speed

The answers from the sessions are actually used to do something. In practice, adjustments are made quickly. For example, we recently switched to Google Chats for internal communication, after some employees indicated that WhatsApp did not work well for them. I experience flexibility and speed as major advantages of working within this small company with approximately 13 employees.

Attention to work-life balance

A good balance between work and private life contributes to job satisfaction. For me personally, with two small children at home, this is an important theme. Fortunately, I have the freedom to organize my time as I wish. I don't feel any pressure or stress from having to be in two places at the same time. This has been different in my career! Should I leave early? Then I work at a different time. Do I want to work on texts from home undisturbed? No problem either.

Being able to be myself

Working in the banking world is not for me. My image of a banker may be a bit cliché and outdated. But I mainly want to indicate that I function best in an informal setting where I can be completely myself, where I feel trust and safety, where I can be vulnerable and where I am allowed to make mistakes. And I can fully do that at Vrolijk Online.

Are you bothered by stimuli such as noise and would you rather not work in an open plan office? Feel free to find another quiet spot in our large building. Wearing sneakers to the office? No one is surprised! In any case, I dress in a way that makes me feel good. So no suit. But above all, I feel free to express my opinion, to take a walk outside when I feel like it, to organize my own agenda and to indicate what I really need to feel good in the workplace.
