New website for Schouten & Nelissen

International training institute Schouten & Nelissen has been online this week with a new customized website. We took care of the technical realization.

Since its founding in 1980, Schouten & Nelissen has been a pioneer in the field of professional development and personal growth. Schouten & Nelissen provides education, courses, training and coaching to make people and organizations stronger. The holding's offering is enormous. The new, umbrella website showcases the various brands, organizations and services of Schouten & Nelissen and shows what they have to offer. Visitors are guided to the right place via a clear portfolio.

Overarching character

Previously, Schouten & Nelissen had one website for everything. “We sold many different services for many different target groups,” explains Charles Kattenbelt, online marketer at Schouten & Nelissen. “From in-house training, online training and individual coaching to advice, company scans and books. All in one place. That became diffuse.”

In order to ensure that the various target groups are properly engaged and converted, Schouten & Nelissen decided to set up its own section per discipline. In two years, nine new brands have emerged, each with their own website, such as Relevance, Competence and New Dawn. The umbrella organization sn.nl clearly displays all these brands and expertise and directs visitors from there quickly and easily to the right service. Naturally, the portfolio website also informs visitors about the origins, development, mission and CSR policy of Schouten & Nelissen. “The two-letter domain sn.nl has enormous authority,” Charles emphasizes. “It's the main SEO generator, so these are exciting times. But so far so good.”

Flawless redirects

Previously, the sn domain belonged to Schouten & Nelissen University of Applied Sciences. This part of Schouten & Nelissen will now continue under the name SUAS. In order to turn sn.nl into an umbrella website, we worked with iO on a redirect plan. Almost everything that was on the sn domain has been moved to the suas domain. The challenge was the pages that could not be redirected, such as the homepage. “A huge redirect job of thousands of pages, carried out flawlessly by iO and Vrolijk Online,” compliments Charles. “A successful joint effort.”

While iO and Vrolijk Online provided the technology, HOWDO provided the visual design of the new Schouten & Nelissen website.

Successful cooperation

In addition to the successful collaboration with iO, we are very happy with the now familiar collaboration with Schouten & Nelissen. We previously created Umbraco websites for the Competence and New Dawn brands. “We are getting to know each other better and all we need is half a word,” Charles agrees. “Mutual requests were crystal clear. Everything was well prepared and there were no loose ends. To speak in Scrum language; the refinements were neat.”
